Local Issues Subcommittee
The Local Issues Study Group, organized in January 2009 as part of Democracy for Tippecanoe is expanding to also serve as a subcommittee of Yes We Can Tippecanoe
Nancy Triplett & Susan Schecter are Co-chairs.
Goals and objectives of the Local Issues Study Group include:
1. Identifying issues of greatest concern to progressives in the community
2. Helping local Democratic candidates identify and respond to voter concerns
3. Organizing educational forums to provide information on issues of concern
4. Providing a base for community organizing
5. Coordinating with other community organizations
6. Increasing political participation at the local level
• Attending meetings of local government councils/commissions
• Writing letters to the editor
• Lobbying local and state officials
7. Increasing voter turnout among progressives
